Addinsight will generate a travel time prediction every 30 seconds and consider live travel times on each link and historical data. Based on the aggregation of shorter link travel times, it does not need a single vehicle to travel the route to generate the prediction.
A unique feature of the Addinsight travel time prediction is its ability to baseline the prediction against normal conditions that consider the time of day and day of the week. Most other travel time information is baselined against free flow conditions, during peak periods delays are expected.
Addinsight is extremely transparent compared to similar systems that only provide aggregated data. If the predictions are under or overestimating travel times, adjustment factors can be applied to the algorithm per route.
